There were 20 new lisitngs in 22102 since my last post on 3/35/10. 8 are condominiums, 3 are town houses and 9 are single family homes. Two are already under contract (7680 Tremayne Pl and 980 Saigon Rd).

Kennedy Estate Sold on 1/7/10
Robert F. Kennedy’s home for over 50 years (Hickory Hill) sold on January 7, 2010. Hickory Hill is located on 5.6 acres at 1147 Chain Bridge Road in McLean, Virginia 22101.
It was originally listed for $20,000,000 on 10/29/04 (FX5082121), reduced to $16,500,000 on 9/28/05 , reduced again to $12,500,000 on 3/9/07, then withdrawn from the market on 11/21/08.
It was put back on the market for $12,500,000 on 1/7/10 (FX7232801) and sold on 1/7/10 for $8,250,000. The 2009 tax assessment for the property was $8,754,110. The buyers name was withheld from the tax record.

Today’s Public Open Houses in McLean
There were 29 public open houses in McLean today. See the attached pdf file for addresses and photos.
Compare to February’s numbers:
To date, there are no open houses listed in the MLS for Easter Sunday, April 4. But I will check again later in the week and post information, if there are any.
Look for more public open houses in April (after Easter Sunday, April 4). April 10 & 11 is National Open House weekend, so that should be a big weekend for open houses.

Tania became a residential real estate agent in 2006.
